I am looking for information on James Anderson born 1777 died Glover, Vermont USA Oct 27, 1865. Married Isabelle Donald. What information I have is they lived in Scotland in Louden, Ayrshire on a farm they named Mossend. Their oldest son James born oct 1803 lived on Skellyhill Farm in Darvel, Ayrshire untill they immigrated to the US in 1853. Can anyone help?

I have current of the John and Janet Shields Anderson, of which I am from.

The previous message should have stated the town to be Darvel, and the farm may have been changed to "Skellyhill", at least it was called this in 1945 from a pictue I have.

Anderson is one of the most common surnames in Scotland. Can you provide more information about James Anderson such as the town where he was born or married? Do you have his wife's maiden name?

Noticed your connection to Janet Shields Anderson. I am trying to trace a John Shields Anderson who was a witness at my Grandfather Andrew Shankland Anderson's wedding to Isabella Wylie.
I was wondering if there was any connection.

I can't find a connection although there are Wylie in the family. They would be from Vermont.
