I am reposting my interest in the Kennedy surname again. I have been at a brick wall with this for a couple of years now. I am looking for information on the birth of James Kennedy married to Jane Aird in Kirkmichael.

In FREECEN 1841 Ayrshire Kirkmichael there is the following family at
Crosshill East Dalhoan Street
James Kennedy 20, Ag Lab
Jane Kennedy, 25,
NK Kennedy 1 month

IN IGI there is a marriage for James Kennedy and Jane Aird 5th June 1840 in
Kirkmichael

I have not been able to find James Kennedy birth or his death. I am hopeing SKS will be able to help me find his birth or death. I greatly appreciate all of the help in the pass and any help anyone can offer me now.

The marriage entry you refer to in only an LDS submission. But there is an official record of this marriage on the same date but at nearby Ochiltree:

In that same Batch, there is one other KENNEDY marriage, which could be connected:

This might give you another place to look. My only KENNEDY connection is from a death certificate where the mother is shown as an Ann KENNEDY (Straiton), but this would be in the previous generation (before 1800).

Thanks Irene, hopefully this will help me narrow down the years for looking for his possible death, if this is them on the 1851 census, I appreciate your help, Thanks so much again! If his youngest was 3 years old on the 1851 census, I guess I will try and look for his death between the years of 1858-1851, I dont know if the books of Kilmarnock will have it? They only start at 1855? If anyone out there has acess to them I would appreciate a look up! Again I greatly appreciate your help!
