All,
I found the following transaction dated 21 Jul.[1537] in, "The Register of the Privy Seal of Scotland", Vol. II, AD 1529-1542. To me it appears that Gilbert Kennedy and his wife Margaret Cunningham are selling several pieces of property including Cotreoch [Culcreoch] to James [Jacobum] Kennedy of Blairquhan [Blairquhane]. Anyone on this list happen to read Latin and can tell me if this is the correct interpretation?
Those that are following the Houstons of Cotreoch may know that Michael Houston owned Cotreoch at a later date certainly by the time of his before September 30, 1573(page 137, "The commissariot record of Edinburgh, register of testaments Edinburgh:" British Record Society, Scottish Section, 1897) but also according to M'kerlie in 1563 (History of the Lands and their Owners in Galloway, Vol 2, page 473).
