Valuation Rolls are records of all the properties in Scotland; and each county will hold their own records. The rolls show the name of the tenant, as well as the proprietor, the name of the farm and sometimes, if you're lucky the name of the wife! Will also show how much rent was paid. They came/come out every year - which is good for us family historians as you can see if families moved around in between the censuses.

Sorry, meant to say Burns Centre - which is located in Kilmarnock - http://www.burnsmuseum.org.uk/. Unfortunately, you cannot make copies of them at the Burns but you can at the Carnegie Library in Ayr. If you have an i-pad you can make lots of photos for £5 per day. Probably the same with an i-phone. Unfortunately I don't think I copied any from Dalry....
