In the 1871 census for the family of Gavin Barrie b 1829 & Agnes Morton b 1834, their birthplace is listed as "Marmatone, Ayrshire". I've tried Googling it, but I'm not even getting any suggestions for something close. Can anyone give me an idea of what the actual name of this town might be?

I guess it doesn't really matter since it's the only time it shows up this way. In other years it's listed as either Newmilns or Loudoun.
