With the mother's name of Caroline WHITE, I am confident this is the right family and that would make Alexander aged 3 the right one for your search. Also shows he was highly likely to be the Alexander born 1878, not 1885. Forms of Caroline or Karaline, etc are very rare in Scotland. There are regional pockets of popular given names not found in surrounding areas however I hardy ever see that one. Those other 2 names are boarders...Robert THOMPSON and Thomas CASHON however it can't be assumed that these are not related to this family. I'd be wary of CASHON, it might be a bad transcription as its also not seen much. Old Parish Records may show more CASHONs to confirm in Paisley. MegG in OK
