I'm searching for info on Love's, from Kilmarnock - children spread out to Kilmaurs, Tarbolton & Dalry areas of Ayrshire.
Archibald Love & wife Marion Tennant had 7 known children, Margaret b.1784; Isabel b.1786; Archibald b.1788; John b.1789, married Agnes Wynn; Lauchlin b.1792, married Elizabeth McLean; William b. 1795, married Mary Stirrat; Robert (Robin) b.1798, 2nd wife Agnes Marshall.
Specially trying to find Robert's first wife & if any children from first marriage.
Would appreciate any info on any of the above family members.
I am willing to share information I have.

My grandfather 'William Love' is from Kilmarnock, Scotland and still lives there today. He married my grandmother 'Myrtle Hoy' and they had 6 children. 4 of those children stayed in Kilmarnock while 2 of them came to Belfast, Northern Ireland and all had children of their own.

We have a James Hoy who married Mary McGee or McGhee in 1901 Kilmarnock Scotland. Two children we have found are Mary McGuire Hoy b. 1901 and Elizabeth Lightbody Hoy born 1903. James Hoy may have had brothers named John Hoy and Cornelius Hoy. We are still checking this connection. Is this any link to your Hoy family in Kilmarnock? Mary McGee was my gg aunt.

I may be researching the same Loves of Kilmarnock. My Robert Love was born in Kilmaurs and marries Agnes Marshall. I have three children for them. Does this tick any boxes?

My Gx6 grandfather was Ninian Love who married Jean Wilson in Kilmaurs on November 11th 1733.
Their daughter, Jean Love, was born in Kilmaurs in 1736 and she married Gabriel Galt ( as his second wife) in Dreghorn in 1761.

Possibly the same Love line?

Unfortunately I have only got as far back as Robert Love born in 1808 in Kilmaurs who married Agnes Marshall in Kilmaurs in 1864. I have a feeling that Morag Klauss who was involved in this thread a few years ago may be able to help link the pieces together. Hopefully she is still researching.

So the marriage in 1864. Kilmaurs, between Robert Love, and Agnes Marshall, is the same couple who have been living together for thirty years, and they finally tied the knot, well well.
