Hi Georgene
Here is the URL for the website-it's very long!
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatch...
On this site you can search the LDS records by surname and parish,( Stewarton in your case )and without all the records with no source numbers from Scottish Parish Registers.
Have you tried www. Origins.net you have to pay a small fee to search on this site, but it has the full indexes of births and marriage records for every parish in Scotland ,where the records still exist-it's well worth it if you are stuck as it has a lot of earlier record indexes that don't exist on LDS.There are also some good information pages on this sight which are free to look at.
Also if you are not already on it you could subscribe to the Ayrshire mailing list.
If you have regular access to a computer you can receive e-mails posted to the list from people all researching in Ayrshire
and you can post the names of people you are searching for.
This is how I saw your message but the mailing list is much easier to reply to-so you may get more people answering your query.
Hope this helps you out a bit more!
We've all been down the road of not knowing what records are to be believed.I've found most people are more than happy to help out with novice queries! We all start out clueless, it won't take you long to get familiar with it all!
best wishes Debra
