My great-grandfather, George PARKER was born in Kilmarnock, 22 August 1827, perhaps the son of James and Elizabeth (Dunn) PARKER. He married Margaret Jane Service, 1854 in Norwich, Connecticut USA and then lived in Hyde Park, Massachusetts until his death in 1887. Seeking correspondence with descendants and looking for additional information about James and George and their families..

Bill - I picked up on your research for George/William Parker and family with roots in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire. I am also looking at my 'Parker Roots' in the Kilmarnock and Kilmaurs
(nearby) area. I can't establish a direct link at present but the following family names occur regularly throughout the Generations! Hugh, Robert, John, James, George and Janet, Jean, Jane, Elizabeth, Agnes and Margaret. I have a Hugh, George, and a James Parker who emigrated to USA/Canada
late 19th C. I should be interested to know of your 'George's'

I have a James Parker born Irvine in 1791, first marriage to Margaret Banks in 1812, children Charles, Jane, Thomas, James, Marion and Archibald then in 1826 a marriage to Margaret Wallace, children are Jane, Agnes, John, George, Margaret, Mary and William. James Parkers parents were John Parker and Jane Young who married in Irvine in 1782.

I'm afraid I cannot confirm your connection. I have no record of Janet Parker marrying George Young. My info. on 'my' Janet was that she was born June 3 1762, 1st child of John Parker and Jean Wilson. I hold no further details - at present.
