What precisely do you wish to learn about Lawrence? I am a direct descendent through his son Lawrence II and his son James and thus the whole family line in Lightstreet, Pa. I can give you some book references and other data about descendents and some information on Upper Mt. Bethel. The real puzzle all Marr researchers have is Lawrence's parentage, although there is a report of a family bible mentioning that he was the son of an H. Marr and Rachael Goodenough. Questions about his birth date and time and method of arrival in Hunterdon Tw. N.J. are open.

Hello Charles and Connie,

I too am a descendant of Lawrence. I come down through his son David who married Sarah Holden. Could one of you give me Lawrences' other childrens names....? Charles, do you know Lawrence 1'st's wife's name? I have the info on H.Marr and Rachel Goodenough...but I am not sure if H stands for Henry...could be a german line then to a Henric Marr further back...not proven yet.

Hope you can fill in family names for me,

Thanks Louise

Hi:
I have a website that will help. It lists Lawrence Marr's Children. As far as a wife of Lawrence, I have found neither a first wife or a second wife.

Lawrence, supposedly, was a brother to the Earl of Mar, John Francis Erskine. I was researching recently at the Morman Library in Mesa, Arizona and found a story about Lord Grange. He was a brother of John Francis Erskine and got angry with his wife and dumped her on an island off the coast of Scotland. She ended up losing her mind. If Lawrence was part of this family, I wonder about the poor wife/wives and their fates.

I got an Email from a man who said Rachel Goodenough was the mother of Lawrence and she was his ggg grandmother.

I do know for sure that this Lawrence Marr whose son David married Sarah Holden was Scotish and was born in Renfrew Scotland.
