Dear Duncan, where did you find the information about the wallaces in 1821? I know our Monaghans were in Monkton in 1851, but I think John was born in Newton-on Ayr, so far I have been unable to find his birth details.
I was so excited yesterday and thought at last someone has replied with some information about our family and then soon realised it was our son Jim, taking the "mickey".
