l am looking for a connection to the Mcwilliam surname in Ayrshire. l have a William Mcwilliam born 1884. Elizabeth McKenzie Mcwilliam born 1886.( married a Gourlay), next generation l have a
William Mcwilliam 1860, siblings James, Hugh , Susan , William, Mary ( married a Smith), John, Richard.
Parents were Hugh Mcwilliam and Elizabeth Mcwilliam married in 1853 both born in Ireland. Any info or contact would be greatly appriciated.

On the British Isles Vital Records Index only one of the children is recorded
James McWilliam birth 20 Sep 1854 chris 8 Oct 1854. Ballantrae, Ayr Parents Hugh McWilliam & Elizabeth McKenzie. I couldn't find a James McWilliam on the 1881 census.

Yes that is the Mcwilliam family..l am excited that l got a reply !!!
Yes l have census records for them in 1871,1881,1891,1901 as well as lots of other information. William Mcwilliam was my grandfather and he was the grandson of Hugh and Elizabeth Mcwilliam who raised him.!!! And all those you listed were his aunts/uncles, his father was also william mcwilliam.
So whats your connection ?, oh how exciting !!!
