This is a call for information to anyone who can claim ancestry to the former MacCurdy/McCurdy/Mackirdy/Mckirdy/MacCurdie/McCurdie families of the Isle of Arran, of which I am told no longer exist on the beautiful isle. I am aware of the MacCurdy families who emigrated to Northern NB, specifically Dalhousie, Point La Nim, Dalhousie Junction, Belledune, and Black Point but would like to make other connections to potential relatives of McCurdie's from the isle of Arran who went elsewhere such as Australia, USA, and megantic county, Quebec, Canada. The Arran Clearances took place during 1829 and 1840, which is what brought my MacCurdie ancestors to their new homes in Restigouche county, New Brunswick, Canada. Unearthing my roots to shed more light on my MacCurdy ancestry has been a passion of mine for over 10 years now and I really look forward to connecting and sharing information with you. I'd like to deepen my roots to the Isle of Arran as much as possible and hopefully some day visit.
Thanks,
Justin William James MacCurdy
