Would love to hear from anybody doing research into any of the family names I have just posted. I have traced my Muir family at Rothesay as far back as 1670's to John Muir of Bush just outside Rothesay.
My gt grandfather James Muir was born at Rothesay in 1860. His parents were Thomas Bland Muir & Isabella Morrison who lived at Barone Park Rothesay in 1850's. His parents were James Muir & Margaret Bland who also lived at Barone Park in the 1820's. James parents were William Muir & Mary McDonald 1780's. William & Mary has three sons the first was my ancestor James the next was John Muir who lived in Foley House and factor to the Marquis of Bute he was a sheriff and town clerk of Rothesay and Archibald. Elizabeth there daughter married Captain Robert Stewart in 1808. I would love to hear from any Muir's still at Rothesay.
