Thanks for your help but I'm afraid my Sinclair Bain would have been born long before 1900.

Hi Ginny,

My main interest is the Oags originating from Caithness. As a consequence your other names (Farquhar, Steven, Miller, Campbell, Forbes, Doull, and Bain) appear attached to it in various forms.

If you would like to get in touch my address is vp.oag@ntlworld.com

Regards,

Val Oag

Hi Valerie....I had been in contact with you a few years back ( Ian in Canada). I put the research on hold for a while, but I'm back (with a vengeance) in the last little while. I have an Ancestry.com subscription, and my wife bought me a lot of credits on scotlandspeople.com for Christmas. I found quite a bit, including an elusive distant, distant one on my father's side. I'm very pleased with all the progress I've made. Unfortunately, my father passed away in early November, but I found photographs of his father that he never told me he had (early 1900's regimental photographs)...plus all my dad's original paperwork (birth certificates, marriage certificates, etc...) And all the family photographs that we accumulated over the years. That's what got me going again, finding all that...it's kind of like I'm driven now. Anyway, I'd sure like to hear from you, and compare our notes again, see if there's anything new to share.

Hi Fiona,
I am Sinclair's granddaughter & have just started using the site when my aunt (his daughter) visited last week.
We have quite a lot of history on the family through a cousin Ailsa, how far back are you? How are we related?
Hope to hear back from you, Fiona
