14 McQueens were captured at the Battle of Preston in 1715 and bannished to America the following year. 4 were sent to Maryland on the Friendship, 8 to South Carolina on the Wakefield, and 1 to Virginia on the Elizabeth. They may have been part of the regiment of MacIntosh of Borlum which captured Inverness and then was sent south to joint the English Jacobites from North Umberland. Seeking information where these McQueens came from and the relationships among them. Have information that they came from Moy, Invernesshire but don't know source. The banishment of this many men from the clan must have been devastating at the time. Any infomraton or leads will be appreciated.
