I am interested in James Beattie married to Helen Smart in 1823. Their children were James b 1827, Elizabeth Ferrier b1824, David b 1829 and Andrew b 1832.

My ancestor James married Diana Burnett in 1851 and their children were David b 1849 (?), Juliann b 1851, Alexander b 1854, Helen b 1858, Jane Ann b 1861, Andrew b 1862, Andrew b 1863 and Jessie b 1866. At the 1881 cencus they lived in Montrose and also had a grand daughter living with them - Alexina B Strachan (I don't know who her parents were).
