Surnames: SKIMMING, CRAWFORD, MILWAIN, McTAGGART, PATERSON, McGHIE, McCREDIE, KERR, SERVICE, BAXTER, NISH, AITKEN, GLOVER
The Families of SKIMMING and CRAWFORD are rooted in Blackcraig, Minnigaff. They were workers in the Zinc and Lead mine at Blackcraig and in the textile industry in Newton Stewart; and later farmers after those industries closed in the area. From these two family roots, are links to: MILWAIN, PATERSON, McGHIE, McCREDIE, KERR, SERVICE, BAXTER, NISH, AITKEN, and GLOVER.
