Looking for information on the LOBAN family of Dundurcas Parish. I have a Thomas Loban who is believed to have been born in Dundurcas c1759. Hoping to find information on his parents/family but not exactly sure where to start looking as I have no information prior to his leaving Scotland.

What I do know is that he enlisted with the 82nd reg/Duke of Hamilton's c1778, served 5 years in Rutherford's Company, was discharged in Nova Scotia Canada c1783 and then settled in New Brunswick Canada where he died in 1817 (children were Alexander, William, John, Isabella, Elizabeth, Margery, Mary and Catherine). Not much to go on but would welcome any and all information on, or possible connections to, the Loban family in the Dundurcas area during that time period.
