Searching for any info on the family of Alexander Ross and Isobel (Watson) Ross, who were married 1780 and raised a family of 12 children at Leyhill near Forres, parish of Dyke, Morayshire County, Scotland. Isobel hailed from the Mill of Boath. Some of the children are;
-John (1781 or 84) had sons Hugh (1818) and Thomas (1821). Emigrated to Canada after 1821.
-Malcolm (Capt), became member of British 8th regiment of foot
-Alexander who emigrated to Canada 1805 and became noted explorer and author
-Grace who emigrated to Canada and married a John Adams, also an officer in British regiment
-William married Lillias Clunas and emigrated to Canada 1835.
-James
These are a few of the children. Many emigrated and several remained in Scotland. I am particularly interested in the life of John. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
