I am Karen Wood. I live in Delaware US, but I come from a long line of Scots
from Perthshire who seemed to arrive on Prince Edward Island Canada, in the
later 1700's and early 1800's.

In particular, there is one couple, Duncan Dewar b. abt 1737 Dull,
Perthashire Scotland, d. ? m. 11 Jul 1762 Dull, to Catherine Menzies. They
are my 6th great grandparents.

I come from two sons, Donald and James Dewar. Both emigrated to PEI

Donald born or christened 5 Mar 1770 Dull, Perth, Scot. m. a Miss Irvine
(irving?). d. on PEI, Memorial in Brudenell Pioneer Cemetery, with large
Gaelic Cross, but burial unknown for sure.

They had at least five children=
1.*Margaret m. Duncan Campbell in 1808 on Prince Edward Island Margaret b. 15
Apr 1787 Tombrec, Foss Scotland, d. 29 Sep 1854 PEI, buried Brudenell
Pioneer Cemetery.

2. Robert b. 16 Sep 1802Tombreac Foss, Scotland d. 20 Nov 1889 PEI, b.
Brudenell Pioneer Cemetery. m. 1. Margaret Irving 2. Margaret Campbell

3. Jessie (f) m. Mungo Forbes

4.Donald m. Isabella Douglas

5. John christened 2 Feb 1792 Keannacoille, Perth, Scotland, d. Jun 1868
PEI. bur Brudenell Pioneer Cemetery. m. Jessie Forbes

The other brother, James Dewar b. abt 1761Dull, Pitkervil, Perth, Scotland,

James Dewar Cm. Anne MacFarlane (date unknown) Also emigrated to PEI.
children:
1.Robert b. 1795 d. 5 Jul 1851 Brudenell m. Margaret Kennedy
2. Catherine b ? d? m. John McLaren
3. Jane b. ? d? m. John Campbell on PEI I think
4. john b. 1790 on PEI d. 1 Mar 1858 PEI Brudenell Pioneer Cemetery, m.
Christina Forbes
5. Alicia m. Donald McVean
6. Margaret m. Duncan Robertson
7.* Donald Dewar b. 12 May 1787 Pilcurrie Scotland m. Julia "Margaret"
Stewart 1807Dull, Pitkervil, Perth, Scotland. Julia b. 1784 Dull,
Perthshire, Scotland d. 1873 Brudenell PEI. Came to PEI on the Claredon in
1808 sailed from Tobermory, N. Britain

THese Dewar and Campbell families intermarried among thier many, many
children on PEI until today. along with associated clan families, they form
quite a network. My family remained on PEI through the late 1800's and
early 1900's, when forced to move to Boston MA area for work. Today, they
go back and forth, although some have remained on the island all these
years.

Some have never left the island at all, ever.

IF any of this sounds at all familiar, especially Duncan Dewar and Catherine
Menzies, I'd really appreciate it as I have no way to get there, although
I'd dearly love to!
