Do you have any more information on your Charles Douglas- do you know names of his parents or siblings? I am just starting to research Douglas/Douglass family in Monzie/Perthshire.

"My" Charles Douglas was baptized June 17, 1792, at Monzie, Perthshire; son of James Douglass and Margaret Crichton; sisters Helen born 1787, Grace or Grissel/Grizel born 1789, and Margaret born 1783.

Margaret married John McRobbie Senior; no info yet on Helen although she may have married a Thomas McEwan and/or a Duncan McKerchar; Grace was the mother of John McLean born 1815 Perthshire. She may have been married to someone else, even to another Douglas.

I found a marriage for a Charles Douglass to Helen LAING on LDS site, in 1815 at Perth.

The McRobbie's and some Douglas family members and others connected to these families through marriages, etc. left Scotland in 1830's and 1840's and according to family information were in Quebec, Canada for a time. I have not done any research on these families in that province.

Then they went to Ontario and settled in and around Puslinch, Wellington County. My McLean's went to Manitoba in 1862.

Grace Douglas McLean died in Manitoba in 1879 age 90 years.

Margaret Douglas McRobbie died in Puslinch, Ontario in 1856 at age 73 years.

Any additional information greatly appreciated.
