Thank you for your note! Something I've recently learned is that the name "John" (and "James") seem to be *very* popular with this family...and confusing for us amateur genealogists! (my grandfather was James, my middle name is James).

So, it appears that some of the Blacks from Perthshire went to New Zealand and some went to Canada. Yes?

My line goes up through Frank to Charles to John Black (pastor at Dunkeld). I believe then his father was also John from Stob Hill, Midlothian, Scotland where *his* father was John, etc..
