Angus McDiarmid and Ann McNaughton - Killin, Scotland - 1700s

Surnames: MacDiarmid, Mcdairmid, McDermid
I'm developing my ancestry.com profile and I'm working with a family geneaology titled "The Kennedys-MacDiarmids, McDermids-Monros and other Glengarry-Stormont Pioneers", written by R.B. Campbell and Douglas McDermid, published by Mika Publishing Company, Belleville, Ontario in 1986. It's still available on amazon.com if you would like to purchase it.

This genealogy takes me back to Angus McDiarmid and Ann McNaughton (married 1767 in Killin), who had several children who emigrated to Martintown, Glengarry County, Ontario, Canada. In Scotland, the family was primarily tenant farming on the lands of the Earl of Breadalbane in Tayside.

I would like to know more about Angus' and Ann's lineage. Where might I find accurate records of Scottish families in the 1700s and before?
