I have only just now discovered your email from 2009. I would be very interested to see any more details on the Story and Douglas family from Jedburgh. I still have not been able to confirm the parents of Robert Story or Agnes Eckford but hopefully your mother has more information that she has passed on to you. I did know of the Story Bridge and that it was named after one of our ancestors!
