If anyone would like more information on these Romanis trees I can go back as far as a John Romanous born in Lauder late in the 1600s and married to Isobell Mitchell. My trees are also quite wide. Only one of them features in border history; Simon Romanes born Remenis 1750 at Raecleugh Westruther and married Mary lamb of Kelso. He was a blacksmith and had a square in Kelso named after him. He fell off the new Kelso Bridge in 1803, just before it opened and died. His house remains in the square and his grave is in the nearbye churchyard. You can get me direct at
