I am researching my family line and have just recently come across a Clink family link. I found details of your research into the same name on the Rootsweb.com website from 1999. I wondered if you had any information linking into my own research.

I have an Isobell Clink married to a William Grimmond. I think William was born in Perth but the information may relate to Perthshire rather than the city. He died before 1855 but is (probably?) on a census for Abernethy in 1851 living next door to his daughter. From this his birth date would be about 1777 so I guess that Isobell's date of birth would be about the same.

In the 1851 census he is listed as a widower so Isobell would have died before this date.

To date I have found one child called Margaret Grimmond who was born ABT 1817 in Abernethy. She married James Marr in Dron 2/12/1833 and died in Ceres 29/8/1867.

There were members of the family staying in Errol and Collessie from about 1836 onwards so this may also give an idea about location for William and Isobell.

Does any of this ring any bells with your research?
Thanks for any help you can give me.
John
