Harriet Pollock, born 1837 in St. Ninians, Stirling

Classification: Query
Surnames: Pollock, Prentice
My gr gr grandmother was Harriet Pollock. She married Joseph Prentice of Dalziel, Lanark; the Rev. David Ogilvie, Free Church minister of Dalziel, married them at Motherwell, on the 2nd March 1855.
They had 12 children; the first daughter was named Mary, so perhaps Harriet's mother was named Mary; the second son was named William Pollock Prentice, so perhaps Harriet's father was a William Pollock.
An article written in the Motherwell Times on March 16, 1925 ("Ruby Wedding") described Harriet as a native of Bannockburn district, where her father was colliery engineer at Jerviston." But the 1861 census shows Harriet as born in St. Ninian's, Stirling. Does it fit to be both born in St. Ninian's, Stirling, and also "a native of Bannockburn district"?
If anyone has knowledge of Harriet's roots, please let me know.
