I am researching Agnes Gourlay born c 1785 to Rev Hugh Gourlay & his wife Elizabeth Colquhoun of Balfron. Hugh & Elizabeth died in January 1787 and that's where I lose Agnes. I can trace her sister Margaret but cannot find Agnes. There doesn't seem to be a burial for her, there is a marriage in 1812 but I cannot be certain that it is the same Agnes Gourlay and there would be quite a difference in status bet bride & groom. Her grandfathers were Robert Gourlay of Kipdarroch and Robert Colquhoun of Touch. The Gourlays had a history as Covenanters, probably her paternal great grandfather.

A sampler sewn by Agnes c 1793 has surfaced in the US.
