Hi Jenny - I really do not have any information on your ancestors at all. I know I had an ancestor Janet MacKay who emigrated circa 1845 from Sutherlandshire to Ontario Canada and settled at first in Woodstock then married and moved to Zorra Township nearby. I am presuming her parents names were a James and a Janet because she named her first two children James and Janet and her husband's parents were neither of those names.

My Gunn ancestors were related on my Janet's husband's side - his mother was a Christian Gunn who may have been from Golspie but I do not know who her parents were. She may have been from Dornoch area as well - perhaps even from Proncy Farm where my Forbes ancestors lived.
