Classification: Query
Surnames: Lachlan, MacLean, MacIntyre, MacNeil, Ronayne
Hello Bonita: My husband (Paul MacNeil) is a descendant of Lachlan and Annie MacLean. One of their sons was named Roderick who married Ann MacIntyre. They had a son named Lachlan who married Mary MacNeil. They had a daughter named Elizabeth who married Hugh Ronayne. They had a daughter name Alice who married Angus MacNeil. They had a son named Stephen who was my husband's father. All I know about the first Lachlan is what I have read in the book "All Call Iona Home."
Excerpt #487: "Lachlan MacLean was only seventeen when in 1745 he took part in the Battle of Culloden. He lived the latter part of his life in Lower Washabuck and was known, far and wide, for the great clarity with which he could describe events that occurred during the Uprising that ended disastrously at Culloden. He died in the summer of 1842, having attained the patriarchal age of 114. He married Annie MacPhee and their family: Michael, Neil, Alexander, Mary "Mhor", Peter, Malcolm, Roderick, Jan, and Mary "Og".
I hope I have helped in some way,
Audrey C. MacNeil
