I cannot help you with your Templeton name. My Templeton connections are through a Thomas Templeton who emigrated to America in approx. 1790. We have a letter from his father John (dated 1798), written from Wigtown, asking about news of the family who had left, and relating news from Scotland. In the letter, he tells of a McMaster who has apparently started a new family in America after leaving his wife in old country. This is all I can tell you. The only names I have are John (the father), and three sons who all emigrated: Thomas, Alexander and John. Let me know if any of this is useful.
