Joseph LEWIS m. Prudence GOULSTONE 6 Nov 1808

I'm descended from Joseph and Prudence Lewis through their daughter Matilda, who was baptized on 30 June 1809 at St Peter's Church in Carmarthen. I haven't been able to trace the line of either Joseph Lewis or Prudence Goulstone any further back so far, and would be very interested to discover additional information. With many thanks, if anyone can help!

Margaret Elizabeth Adam/Adams ~ Brenda Fay Elliott

Brenda Fay Elliott- Alameda, San Fransisco California, U.S.A. March 26. 1957

Brenda Fay was born in Alameda California U.S.A. She was given up to a woman named Tishey May or Mae Eliiott who was married to Franklin Clyde Elliott. Franklin Clyde Elliott and Tishey -Mae or / May - Elliott were married 1972 in California, U.S.A.

Tishey May - or - Mae Elliott sent for her divorce and it was legal in 1979 from Poke Co. Flordia.

Franklin Clyde Elliott never lifted a finger to send child support and or be a real man and take care of his blood child, Brenda Fay Elliott. Brenda Fay Elliott's Birth Mother is a woman named: Margaret Elizabeth Adam/ Adams.

Margaret Elizabeth Adam/Adams and a young boy ( at the time) DID return for Brenda Fay Elliott but Brenda Fay Elliott was young and had her wits about her... she didn't want to return only to be given up again. Margaret Elizabeth Adam/Adams left and never returned to the best of Brenda Fay Elliott's knowledge.

The family that Brenda Fay Elliott has grown up with a lot of them that know about the above information, has been content with Brenda Fay Elliott not knowing about her birth mother , ( content as in: they don't want Brenda Fay Elliott to know her mother, past, background, life and so on). UNTIL Brenda Fay Elliott started doing her own genealogy research and finds. Now, they are trying to find out a lot of information from Brenda Fay Elliott and Brenda Fay Elliot has her wits about her.

Brenda Fay Elliott has been a devoted wife and mother for 20 years. She doesn't smoke, drink alcohol or do street drugs.

She wants to be reunited with her birth mother and family IF they are good and respectable people. She has had a lot of lies given to her from the family that she grew up with and treated bad from them, she won't put up with and or need anymore from anyone. She just needs to be loved by her real family.

Anyone with more information On Brenda Fay Elliott and or Margaret Elizabeth Adam/Adams: Please if able, leave a comment and or contact me.

ContactUKwelsh.
William Harrison father of Maynard Colchester Harrison St Ishmael

Hi, I have been trying to locate the parents of a Maynard Colchester Harrison born August 1807 and according to the census the location is Llansaint/St Ishmael.

I have viewed the parish record online for Maynard C Harrison and the entry says Maynard Colchester son of William Harrison. For some reason the mothers name has not been included like most other records appear to have both parents names. We believe they may have moved to Merthyr after this but having trouble finding any connections or evidence of who the mother is.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi, Thanks for your reply, I haven't seen a Catherine Bowen, but I shall check the records I have. My line were millers in Llangyfelach? A lot of William Bowens, my ancestor was born at Felinwen, moved to Ty'n y Coed Mill in Bettws (outside Ammanford), then his son William moved to Ystradgynlais to work in the mines (more money I suppose). I shall check and let you know, I have to add there were a LOT of Bowens in Llangyfelach and they must be related somewhere in the past.
Kindest regards,
Sue.

Hi there,
I have just read your posting regarding the Bowen family. My grandmother was Catherine Bowen. I was told that the family was from Llangyfelach and Morriston near Swansea. I have traced the Bowen's back to an Eynon Bowen who lived in Llangwig. In 1800 he married Elizabeth Llewelyn and soon moved into the Neath valley. I think his father was John Bowen who lived at Nant-y-Gasseg farm at Llangiwg. Do any of these Bowens link into your Bowens from Llangwiwg or Morriston? Later my Bowens operated chemical and mineral water works in Morriston and Neath.
With best wishes, Laurence Ince

Dear dstephens427,
I happened to see your query about William Jenkins at the same time I found an old letter from an attic (really!). A quote:

"...One sister married a man by the name of Billie Jenkins, a blacksmith by trade, who went to live at [Glais, near Swansea, 30 miles from Carmarthen] and learned his trade at the Neath Abbey Engineering Works..." Billie Jenkins later emigrated "to the then-small Brooklyn of that date".

Could it be the same person? My letter-writer was quite vague about dates, but I know that a nephew of that Billie Jenkins was born about 1833, so Billie might have had a child in 1826. But why in Carmarthen? The letter-writer knew of two of Billie Jenkins's children, William David and Wennie, who went with him to Brooklyn, but of course there might have been other children.

The "one sister" is a sister of Griffith Hughes, b. Cadoxton abt 1801.

Any connection?

Walter Stromquist
mail@walterstromquist.com

I have found all I can about him on here, anyone know how I can find out more about him and, if possible, his direct ancestors? I think Egremont is in Carmarthenshire, by the border with Pembrokeshire. Must be a tiny place as I never heard of it till I discovered my aforementioned ancestor.

Rachel died in the US shortly after immigrating and giving birth Ohio -- I have her death information and pictures of her grave. Just wondering if this family might look familiar to anyone --perhaps siblings of Thomas Thomas or Rachel Jenkins who may still live in Wales. Have not figured out how to trace back to Thomas's or Rachel's parents as it appears there were no census records before 1830 in Wales. Is that correct? My sister will be visiting Wales in the spring -- would there be records in their birth towns that would identify their parent's names? Thank you for your help.

Cannot find out much as yet of Bowen family apart from Thomas Lewis married Elizabeth Bowen 26th July 1799 at St.Elli, Llanelly. Elizabeth bap.at St.Elli, 20th March 1768 daughter of John and Margaret Bowen.
Their daughter Jane Lewis married William David 1832 (my GRT.Grt.Grandparents) Census has family as Davies.
I have found Carmarthenshire difficut to research so have only recently given these families my attention after a long break. Regards, Syljun

I would like corresponde directly via e mail or parcel post to people who are descendants of the Rees, Bowen, Bound, a Bound family's name got changed in Plymouth County, Iowa
(Le Mars, Iowa) from Bound to Bowen and they wouldn't change it.
Jacob Edward Rees who worked in a mine near Landinam, Montgomery, Wales. Rees could have been spelled Reace, Rease
Rees, Rhys, Reis, Reese. We were told (handed down in the family that they may have been working in a mine owned by a Davies. A relative found a relative in the area in World War II by the name of Humphreys-- Thank You Ardy Rees Stoesz
