I am looking for anyone with information on Edward Dodd (b. July 14, 1855) and Mary Ann Davies (b. December 6, 1854), who were married in 1878, in Wrexham -- or their family, either generations previous or following.
Edward Dodd's parents are, I believe, William Dodd and Sarah Edwards. I do not have information about Mary Ann Davies' parents.
Edward was a store / bookkeeper for one of the coal companies in the area.
The couple had four daughters that I know of: Edith (b. 1881), Mary Ann (b. 1883), Emily (b. 1884), and Helena (b. 1887). One other child was also born to the couple before 1911 (the census for which listed Mary Ann Davies as having five children total, with two deceased by that date).
Mary Ann Dodd, one of the daughters (and my paternal great-grandmother), got secretly married, against her parents' wishes, to William Emrys Roberts (a farmer's son) in 1907 in Wrexham, and then emigrated to Canada in 1908.
If anyone out there has any information or could provide me with any information about these folks -- or their parents, children who remained in Wales, etc. -- I would be most appreciative! I'd be more than happy to share the information I have about the couple that came to Canada, and the stories my grandfather has told me about the rest of the "family in Wales".
