Thank you so much. You're right, it's not much to go on. My grandfather didn't know much about his father's history - evidently, his father didn't talk much about it. I'm not even sure where "Harry" went after he arrived in the U.S. He may even have stowed away on the ship. I haven't been able to find any passenger record for him for the years between 1879-1882, which is probably when he would have left England. My grandfather wasn't sure about that, and no one knew his actual birth date (estimated 1869 or 70). Again, I appreciate the information you sent me.
