There are some abysmal spelling errors in Ancestry's transcriptions with this family. Also it's not helped by Ancestry mixing up "Wellington, Shropshire" and "Wellington, Somerset"!!!

A possible timeline, as I see it:

The Twinneys originate from Hinton, Wiltshire, England

1840 Qtr 1: Chlorus Twinney, born Llanfoist, Abergavenny, Monmouthshire, Wales

1841 census: not found

1851 census: "Chloras Swinney" at Llafoist, Monmouthshire, Wales. His father George is a widower.

1852 Qtr 4: George Twinney married Ellen Pitman in Monmouth, Monmouthshire, Wales

1861 census: Chlorus at Harewood, Herefordshire, England
1861 census: George and family have returned to Hinton, Wiltshire, England (about 1854/55)

1871 census: Chlorus not found - George and family still in Hinton

1881 census: Chlorus married and living at Wellington, Shropshire, England
1881 census: George and family have moved to Roath, Cardiff, Glamorgan, Wales

1891 census: "Charles" Twinney at Bala, Merionethshire, Wales
1891 census: Harriet and children still in Wellington

1892: George Twinney, died in Cardiff, Glamorgan, Wales

1901 census: Possibly "Carncms J Swiney" living at Holt, Denbighshire, Wales??
1901 census: Harriet "Turner" still in Wellington

1904 Qtr 3: Chlorus Twinney, died in Bala, Merionethshire, Wales

- Chlorus' wife Harriet was from Astley, Shawbury, Shropshire, England so perhaps a marriage at Shrewsbury or Atcham Registration District rather than Wellington? I can't see one though, and I suspect there isn't one.

I can't see any trace of son Edwin G Twinney (apart from 1881 census). Strange???
Their son Chlorus Ethelbert Twinney was born in Birkenhead, Cheshire, England in 1871, so they may have been living on the Wirral at the time of the 1871 census. Again, I can't see them?
