Although copies of all BMD certificates can be ordered from the General Register Office, it is sometimes more convenient and practical to order from the local Register Office which holds the original registers from the district where the birth, marriage or death took place. If there is any doubt as to whether you are ordering the correct certificate, the local office will often prove to be the better option.

You don't say where you live. If you live outside the UK you will have to pay slightly more for your certificates, but not £25!!!! The standard charge for UK residents is £9.25
(which may take up to a week) or £23.40 for the Priority Service (next day delivery in the UK).

Digital copies of certificates are not available in Wales. Any company which offers this service is simply ordering a standard paper copy and then scanning it for you!
