Can anyone help me identify these people?
The attached pictures have been handed down to me, but I'm not sure who I'm looking at. What I do know . . . In the "Thomas 3" photo, the man in the middle is my great-great Grandfather, John R. Thomas, born in Wales in 1842. To his right is his wife, Mary Probst (possibly Proberts) born in 1844. They emigrated to the United States in 1871 with their three year old daughter Maria (Mariah) born in 1869. The Thomas family settled in Western Pennsylvania where John was a miner/collier. This picture is labeled, Grandpa, Grandma and Aunt. I'm assuming the "Aunt" is John's sister.
The "Thomas" photo is label "Ethel, Husband, Ruth, Percy (Perry)" and on the back says, "All at home at present. Father, Mother, Sister Ethel, Brother Perry, My husband and myself. Will send our group and remainder of family when they get them taken. Signed, Your Fond Niece, Ruth"
"Thomas 2" looks to be many of the same people, taken after the turn of the century.
Any assistance will be appreciated. Thanks. Katie
