Hello

Have you ever thought that the Howell could be on the male line and not the female as you say.

I know of two instances whereby the mother didn't marry the father but added the fathers surname to the child's as a way of identifying the father.

P.S. The two I know about went on to have very successful careers in their individual lives and became prominent members of the community.
