Family members, including my mother (now 98) knew they had an uncle Gomer. They also remember getting letters from him when he lived in Australia. The story goes..their mother died when Cas was a baby. Cas was given up for adoption and Gomer was sent to Australia. I believed Cas to be from Van Wert, Ohio since that what he put on census forms. The only time I had seen Ferndale, Wales was on the marriage certificate. My mother should be a wealth of information, but she pretty much tells me to leave things alone. Not a chance...:)
