William Evans, b 1820 in Dolbenman, m Elizabeth b Llanristiolus. On the 1881 census they lived at Glanafon, Llanbedr, they had the following children: William Evans b 1857 at Llanbedr, Christmas Evans b 1861. I also know from the 1851 census that they had another son, Evan Evans b. 1846, they also had a daughter called Elizabeth b 1863 d. Jan 11, 1865. William Evans was the first Minister at Capel Salem (Chapel), Llanbedr in 1847, it is quoted in the book Salem by Tal Williams that in 1847: Installation of Rev. William Evans (the Clogmaker) as Minister. 1889: End of Ministry of Rev. William Evans. Membership at its peak. 1895 (20 June): Death of Re. William Evans. His wife Elizabeth died January 3rd, 1893. There is also mention that his father was a baptist minister at Dolbenmaen. I know that Christmas Evans (my g.g. Grandfather) went to live in Oldham, where he started an Engineering business.
