I am trying to trace some of my ancestors. my great great grandmother was mary Apjohn (abjohn)born in Limerick Ireland 1766 her great grandfather was a Thomas Apjohn born in Abergynularyn around 1630.He was part of the Jury of Enquiry Re: survey of Land for confiscation in Ireland 1654-1656. he had a claim on 185 acres in carteenaline (ancient name of Linfield, Pallasgreen) this was around the time of the Cromwellian settlement, Thomas was an officer in the Army and a tax commissioner for County Limerick. he came over to Ireland with a Thomas Lloyd who was also a land commissioner and officer in the Army he also farmed an adjoining estate in Towerhill Cappamore and in 1652 he married Eleanor, daughter of Rev. Richard Burgh, Dromkeen, an old norman family well established in the area.Thomas Apjohn's Son Michael born around 1690 married margaret Widenham (1694-1792) any information on this Apjohn family would be greatly received.
