I'm looking for descendants of and connections between 2 Evans families in Welshpool and a Reese family in Carmarthenshire.
A descendant of Ann (b. abt 1824) who married William Evans of Welshpool and a descendant of Elizabeth Evans (b. 1816) who was born in Welshpool have the same mitochondrial DNA Haplogroup T2 genotype (HVR 1 & 2). Another woman who carried the same genotype was Mary Jane Reese, b. 1872 in Llanddarog, Carmarthen, Wales.
Ann, who's birth name may have been Evans, migrated to Radnor, Delaware Co., Ohio. She and William had a daughter, Mary E. Evans, b. 1848. Ohio who married Edward R. Hughes, b. Wales 1845 and possibly a son Allan or Silas b. abt 1844, Ohio.
Elizabeth Evans was born in Welshpool, 1817 and married Edward Davies, b. Weslhpool and was still living there in 1881. Their children were: Eleanor 1839 or 1842 m. William Gwill; Thomas 1845; Nancy Jane 1847; Charles 1850; George E. 1851; Samuel 1852; Henry E. 1858 and Elizabeth 1863.
Mary Jane Reese immigrated to Utah in 1896 and married John Stephens (Stevens) who was born in Llanddarog, Carmarthen, Wales. Their children were: Mary Jane 1897; Margaretta Ann 1898; John R. 1899; and Lucy B. 1893.
All of the children of these women inherited their mother's Haplogroup T2 mtDNA but only the daughters could pass it on to their children. I'm most interested in finding who their daughters married and who their mothers were but information on the sons could be helpful, too. Any information is welcome.
