Mary,

I am hoping you can solve a problem for me. You imply that the parents of your 3xg grandfather William is Richard 1828 and Elizabeth 1850. Do you have a copy of the certificate of William's marriage to Rowena Rowland in 1874 which shows that his father is Richard?

I ask this as I believe that William's parents are Benjamin Thomas and Eliza Lewis (my 2xg grandparents) who lived at Gold Tops, St. Woolos, Newport, and that William who before setting up in business in Aberbeeg trained as a Grocer in Newport. He named his house in Aberbeeg "Gold Tops".
If you or anyother interested member of this family do not have a copy of William's marriage certificate I will get one.

Regards and Best Wishes
Brian Comley, Porthcawl
