Never a slave in these Bahama Islands. Arrived as an educated and stately young black liberated African. Born in Africa c.1800. Came to the Bahamas in 1834. Lived at Gregory Town, Eleuthera Bahamas as an indentured servant on the Wood Plantation estate.Henry learnt the business savvy of his master and when he was freed he became a prominent and wealthy merchant and landowner in The Bahamas. Died at the age of 105 in 1905.
