BIGGS/ BATTELE
Looking for any information on the family and ancestors of George Biggs, b. Aug 12, 1794 in Wiltshire, d. Nov 4, 1869 at Governors Harbor, Eluthera, Bahamas. He married Emma Rogers Battele Oct 17, 1811 in St. Croix. They had 6 children, some of whose descendants may still reside in the Caribean; one branch is well represented in New York.
Our family legend is that he was a person of some Importance, perhaps holding a high government position in the Bahamas/ West Indies. Any help would be greatly appreciated - I have a variety of materials to swap, although this is my only line from the Bahamas.
