Dear Godfrey, thats a fascinating story that sounds very familiar to stories Ive heard before. My grandmother went to elementary school with Varlacks, Vanterpools and Normans. Her name is Bernice Wheatley-Bowens. She had 6 or seven sisters: Eunice and Althea are still living, and currently reside in Philadelphia. Dorothy, and Phyllis passed away years ago and lived in Philadelphia. Our cousin Carlisle Varlack also went to school in Anegada. He currently owns a business in the Empire State builing in NY. I know his sister Norma Varlack. Are you familiar with Mac Norman? He is my grandmothers 1st cousin and he has a son Felix who lives in NJ and also works in NY. There are many Anegadians in the New York city area as well as Philadelphia. There is also the Anegada Progressive League in the Bronx NY. Ill be in NY the 2nd week in January. Ive been to a few meetings before. Our cousin Horace Barone is the president. Other cousins are Calvin and Reuben Wheatley in St Thomas, they have a brother Charles Wheatley in Fajardo Puerto Rico whom I visited with in 95'. My grandmothers father was Casimera Wheatley.I currently live in Jacksonville Florida. Ive been here for 4 years. I was in NJ prior to FLorida. Im sorry I missed your call, please try again soon. Take care, Marcus Wells Lastly, cousin Carlisle Varlack has a place here in Jacksonville Florida.
