Dear Marcus:My mother was a Harrigan, but her mother was a Varlack, and I spent a good deal of my boyood in Anegada, to which my mother used to send my brother Dennis and me to spend the summer. Following the pattern set by her mother, Camelita Varlack, who married a Tortola Harrigan, an "outsider," my mother committed the unheard-of act of marrying --of all things--a St. Thomian. They had thirteen children, twelve of whom survived, and I am number five. The days spent in Anegada were blissful, and we had a great time with various family members: Faulkners, Wheatleys, Normans, Georges, etc. Are you located in Buffalo, where there are a large number of Anegadians, and which one of my brothers refers to as "Anegada North"? K eep it touch. Glad to hear from you. See you at the shipwreck. Godfrey R. de Castro, a loyal Anegadian.
