Hi Kym:
I came across this posting today. I've been researching my family - MULLANE. I discovered yesterday that a ancestor of mine married a Marino Leo Pomares Jr. in 1909. Her name was Maude Eveyln Mullane. On the marriage certificate, Marino is listed as an engineer. Father: Marino L. Pomares. Mother: Anna Munoz. I did further research and found Marino Sr. and family living in Brooklyn by way of Cuba. After Marino Jr and Maude married, they moved to California. I found them in the 1930 Census. Here is what it said
Marino L. Pomares 42 - Cuba - VP of Electronic Engineering
Maude Pomares 37
Anita E. Pomares 19 - Actess
Marino - 6 son
Anita went on to become the screen actress Anita Page. I think Marino (the son) died in the 60s (SSI card). I would like to learn more about the family. I was hoping someone could tell me more about Maude Mullane Pomares....perhaps your great-great-grandmother.
I hope very much to hear from you soon.
