I DIDN'T MAKE A LOT OF RESERCH, BUT THE FAMILY NAME "BELLO" IS SURELY BEEN ORIGINATED IN ITALY, POSSIBILY FROM SOUTHERN ITALY. MY GREAT GRANDFATHER WAS BORN IN PUGLIA; I AM NOT SURE BUT I THINK THE PLACE WAS S.MARIA DI LEUCA.

Looking for the surname Bello, Hernandez and Taillefer in Santa Clara (Placatas) Cuba. Augustine Bello married Maria Hernandez about 1875. Their daughter Maria Luisa Bello married Arturo Taillefer about 1895. Taillefer was from New Orleans and settled in Cuba. Does anyone have any information on these families? Casey

Bello was from Jaen, Spain, but I have not found anything. I have read the name's origination is from Italy.

Do you know by any chance when did Mr. Bello marry Theresa Gutierrez? My family is Gutierrez and they were from Corralillo in Las Villas, they were a big family that started (the latest that I know) with Marcelino Gutierrez in Rio Blanco Havana, around the 1830's. He married Regla Rivera and have Manuel Gutierrez who was my greatgrandfather. He married Filomena Perez and they have my grandfather JOse Marcelino Gutierrez Perez in 1889.
Probably that lady, Teresa was a relative of mine, because according to my knowledge that entire family migrated from Havana to Las Villas.

My father's side of the family(Bello) comes from Naples.
My grandfather was born there and imigrated to the US in the late 1800's.
Most of that side of the family resides in the Syracuse, NY area.
Bello is most often thought of as being in the Spanish heritage, but i can assure that there are many Italian's named Bello, my father had 14 brothers & sisters

my great grandfathr Luigi Bello came from Naples Italy and started a new family with 4 children we now live in Mass
